MaumCalc Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 1, 2025

MaumCalc (hereinafter "Company") establishes and discloses this privacy policy in accordance with Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act to protect the personal information of data subjects and to promptly and smoothly handle related complaints.

Article 1 (Purpose of Personal Information Processing)

The Company processes personal information for the following purposes. The personal information being processed will not be used for purposes other than the following, and when the purpose of use changes, necessary measures such as obtaining separate consent will be implemented in accordance with Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

1. Website Member Management

Personal information is processed for member registration confirmation, identification and authentication for membership services, maintaining and managing member qualifications, preventing unauthorized use of services, confirming consent of legal representatives when processing personal information of children under 14, various notices and notifications, complaint handling, and record preservation for dispute resolution.

2. Providing Goods or Services

Personal information is processed for providing calculator services, saving and managing calculation results, providing customized content, service improvement, and developing new services.

3. Inquiry Response and Complaint Handling

Personal information is processed for user identity verification, inquiry confirmation, contact and notification for fact-finding, and notification of processing results.

Article 2 (Items of Personal Information Processed)

The Company processes the following personal information items.

1. Website Member Management

  • Required items: Email, password, nickname
  • Optional items: Date of birth, gender, physical information (for BMI calculation purposes)

2. Automatically Generated and Collected Information

The following personal information items may be automatically generated and collected during internet service use.

  • IP address, cookies, MAC address, service usage records, visit records, misuse records, etc.

Article 3 (Processing and Retention Period of Personal Information)

① The Company processes and retains personal information within the personal information retention and use period according to laws and regulations or the personal information retention and use period agreed upon when collecting personal information from data subjects.

② The personal information processing and retention periods are as follows.

1. Website Member Information

Retained until member withdrawal. However, in the following cases, retained until the end of the relevant reason.

  • When investigation or inquiry for violation of related laws is in progress: Until the end of such investigation or inquiry
  • When there are remaining creditor-debtor relationships due to website use: Until settlement

2. Service Usage Records

  • Calculation records: 2 years
  • Log records: 3 months
  • Records related to consumer complaints or dispute handling: 3 years

Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

The Company processes personal information only within the scope specified in Article 1 (Purpose of Personal Information Processing) and provides personal information to third parties only in cases corresponding to Articles 17 and 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act, such as data subject consent and special provisions of law.

Currently, the Company does not provide users' personal information to external parties in principle.

Article 5 (Consignment of Personal Information Processing)

① The Company consigns personal information processing work as follows for smooth personal information processing.

Consignment Status

  • Consignee: Replit, Inc.
  • Consigned Work: Server hosting and data storage
  • Retention and Use Period: Until member withdrawal or consignment contract termination
  • Consignee: Google, Inc.
  • Consigned Work: Web log analysis and statistics (Google Analytics)
  • Retention and Use Period: 14 months (only anonymized data collected)

② When concluding consignment contracts, the Company specifies in documents such as contracts matters concerning prohibition of personal information processing other than consignment work performance purposes, technical and administrative protection measures, re-consignment restrictions, management and supervision of consignees, and liability for damages in accordance with Article 26 of the Personal Information Protection Act, and supervises whether consignees process personal information safely.

Article 6 (Rights and Obligations of Data Subjects and Legal Representatives and How to Exercise Them)

① Data subjects may exercise rights such as personal information access, correction, deletion, and processing suspension against the Company at any time.

② Rights may be exercised against the Company through writing, email, fax, etc. in accordance with Article 41, Paragraph 1 of the Enforcement Decree of the Personal Information Protection Act, and the Company will take action without delay.

③ Rights may be exercised through legal representatives of data subjects or authorized agents.

④ Requests for personal information access and processing suspension may be restricted according to Article 35, Paragraph 4 and Article 37, Paragraph 2 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

⑤ Requests for correction and deletion of personal information cannot request deletion when the personal information is specified as a collection target in other laws.

How to exercise rights: Available directly through the settings page, and we will take action without delay if you contact us through writing, phone, or email.

Article 7 (Measures to Ensure Safety of Personal Information)

The Company takes the following measures to ensure the safety of personal information.

  • Administrative measures: Establishing and implementing internal management plans, regular employee training
  • Technical measures: Access authority management for personal information processing systems, installation of access control systems, encryption of unique identification information, installation of security programs
  • Physical measures: Access control to computer rooms, data storage rooms, etc.

Article 8 (Installation, Operation and Rejection of Automatic Personal Information Collection Devices)

① The Company uses 'cookies' that store usage information and retrieve it from time to time to provide individual customized services to users.

② Cookies are small pieces of information sent by the server (http) used to operate a website to users' computer browsers and may be stored on users' PC hard drives.

a. Purpose of Cookie Use

Used to provide optimized information to users by understanding visits and usage patterns for each service and website visited by users, popular search terms, secure connection status, etc.

b. Cookie Installation, Operation and Rejection

You can reject cookie storage through option settings in Tools → Internet Options → Privacy menu at the top of your web browser.

c. Precautions When Rejecting Cookie Storage

If you reject cookie storage, you may experience difficulties using customized services.

Article 9 (Personal Information Protection Officer)

① The Company designates a personal information protection officer as follows to take overall responsibility for personal information processing and to handle complaints and remedy damages related to personal information processing by data subjects.

② Data subjects may contact the personal information protection officer and relevant department for all personal information protection-related inquiries, complaint handling, damage remedies, etc. that occur while using the Company's services. The Company will respond and process data subjects' inquiries without delay.

Article 10 (Changes to Privacy Policy)

This privacy policy takes effect from the effective date, and when there are additions, deletions, and corrections of changes according to laws and policies, we will notify through announcements from 7 days before the implementation of changes.
